Webster Tbilisi Campus Library’s book club, 1Q84, has begun the year with an inspiring start. Dedicated to fostering meaningful discussions around literature, the club recently hosted its first public event, delving into the profound relationship between mental health and storytelling.
The Healing Power of Literature
During the event, Giorgi asked, “What is literature if not the union of individuals?” This sentiment resonated deeply with the audience, emphasizing that literature connects people across time, space, and personal experiences. Books, he argued, entertain and offer solace and insight, helping readers navigate personal struggles with a sense of shared understanding.
The discussion explored the therapeutic potential of books, highlighting how literature can inspire, heal, and offer fresh perspectives on life’s challenges. Attendees eagerly contributed their thoughts, sharing personal experiences of finding comfort in stories and discussing how books can be a refuge in difficult times.
